Design is an extremely creative process that involves shaping all areas of life in the sense of designing things with an understanding of individual and social processes and structures. The way we design shapes our cultures.

With regard to design, a very fundamental question goes hand in hand, that of the good life. This raises further questions, namely about quality, economy and ecology, about living and production conditions and therefore sustainability.

In answering these questions, craftsmanship and design take on new significance as a conscious influence on design: craftsmanship because it provides tried and tested, old manufacturing processes and design because it is good when it is innovative, honest, durable, environmentally friendly and has as little design as possible.

The New Nordic. Fashion. Food. Design exhibition was dedicated to clothing, eating and drinking. It presented the products and ideas of selected Nordic craft businesses as well as fashion, interior and food designers and showed what it takes to turn clothing into fashion and the production, preparation, presentation and enjoyment of food into multifaceted phenomena of cultural life practice and the good life.

It shows how fashion can be produced in such a way that it meets our aesthetic demands and is created under fair production conditions that do not harm the environment or people. And it made it clear that New Nordic Cuisine involves more than just the tasty and effective preparation of food.
