Hidden Deviations

The Hidden Deviations serie shows photographic images, indeed "portraits", that were created in private spaces. The aim is a publication. It is an ongoing project about deviations from the norm in hidden spaces.

Houses and apartments can become a mirror of their (former) inhabitants; they act as their memory, keep their memory alive for those born after them or develop over the decades into time capsules of a bygone era. We encounter yearnings for life, life plans and obsessions in the rooms, which can be observed as remarkably different phenomena from home to home, from country to country. The visible, but also the empty spaces, tell us something about the lifestyles and desires of the individual. The stories contained in the objects and furnishings in the rooms are only revealed to the outside world via narrow paths. The photographs are documents of this.
