Analog photos, 1991–2000
These photographs are analog and show fragmentary moments from churches and museum contexts. The black and white images on baryta paper have been reworked by hand and their tones give the impression of being from the 19th century, when photography was still in the beginning. They evoked the nostalgia of a bygone era. In these photographs and also in the colored Cibachromes, the focus is on condensed atmospheres of the past, which can associatively trigger a memory that can be described as a foreign memory.
